About me.
My name is Marta and I am based in London in the UK.
I grew up in a family of Computer Scientists. Since being a kid I have been fascinated by science, especially human biology and psychology.
This passion has proven to be helpful in my personal life, as unfortunately I have been suffering with several chronic health issues since teenage years, including Endometriosis and IBS.
My body always reacted to stress in a strong way.
When these symptoms started for me 15+ years ago, the concept of treating somatic symptoms as valid was not common in the healthcare system.
I have been working in technology and AI for 10+ years. I spent the majority of that time moving between roles and experiencing a lot of change, stress, and struggling with imposter syndrome.
For several years I worked as a Software Engineer. This career was not for me, but I felt pressured by people around me and by the society.
They told me that being a woman in Software Engineering is what the world needs and that I “should” be doing it.
This career experience, together with my chronic health challenges, led me to suffer from debilitating chronic stress symptoms in my 20s.
It took me years of self learning and also getting professional help to heal and find a place in a corporate world that felt like me. I managed to set goals and boundaries which protect me, my health, and my values.
Throughout my career journey I mentored women interested in the technology industry. This experience allowed me to find my passion for supporting others in their self growth.
I trained to become an ICF Certified Life Coach, and I got additional education in Neuropsychology and Psychosomatic Diseases. I am currently pursuing a part-time MSc degree in Applied Neuroscience at Kings Collage London.
I am fascinated with how our nervous system impacts the way we feel, think, and act. Going into Neuroscience informed Coaching felt like a natural path for me.
I still struggle with stress and somatic symptoms, however everything I learned as a Neuroscience Coach has been relief-giving and helpful. I feel very grateful I get to share it with others.
